Dragon Age Inquisition Thoughts: Champions of the Just, Part 2

Spoiler Thoughts:

  • So many eye drawings. Apparently the Old One was an Ophthalmologist.
  • Wait, what? Why does the Old One want to assassinate Celene? SPEAK ENGLISH, COLE.
  • Holy Moly, I must never ace read some of the codex before–the oculara are made from tranquils who were forced to become abominations right next to a shard and immediately killed?
  • Anders was right. It sucks to be a tranquil.
  • I can’t help thinking we might not be doing these Templars a favor, finding them all this lyrium.
  • I’m pretty sure I’m missing an enormous amount of loot, but since my inventory is full, I can basically only pick up crafting supplies.
  • So now the Templars have taken down the barrier, and we need to hurry up and charge in to kill the envy demon that’s been killing and distorting everyone…”Oh wait, does that bag have lambswool in it?” “Hey, look–I found some letters.”
  • Well, that didn’t go too bad, and at least we didn’t have to stare at Envy’s bum for any length of time.
  • After coming all the way here and fighting all these demons, I think I’m going to let you join us, Barris.
  • Wow, that was a lot of disapproval.
  • I think Cole disapproved and he wasn’t even part of the team yet.
  • Dorian may have disapproved, and we haven’t even met him yet.
  • “DEAL. WITH. IT.”
  • Cass has no time for your whining.
  • Ok, did anyone notice the shack in Redcliffe where people are clearly making oculara? Gross.
  • Alright, we can’t go to Redcliffe Castle or talk to the mages anymore, so we might as well gird our loins and move on to “In Your Heart Shall Burn.”  Ah Haven, we hardly knew ye.

Teen Wolf, Season Five, Episode Two: “Parasomnia”

Screencap from http://teen-wolf-mtv.wikia.com/wiki/Teen_Wolf_Wikia

Spoiler Thoughts:

  • Lydia’s Mom’s back! Hope she was able to sell that Lake house after all the crap the gang put it through.
  • Well nothing like people vomiting up black oil on your desk to start a new year.
  • Denton! It’s always nice when we know someone didn’t die.
  • Oh great. Now he’ll probably turn into a were dog.
  • Happy probably-evil Theo.
  • Apparently this is the year where Everything’s Coming Up Liam.
  • Actually, that’s pretty much every year.
  • Really? UC Davis is the best school on the West Coast for Biological Sciences? I’m going to say there’s probably a few other schools who would like a word about this.
  • I’ve taken a lot of Biology courses, and a lot of AP courses.  As far as I can tell, this teacher with a degree in discouragement is not the norm.
  • Wow, these lockers are a lot bigger than the ones at my school.
  • I guess Lydia’s scar healed up?
  • Parrish is so totally under Lydia’s thumb, he could do her cuticles.
  • On the other hand, Parrish is a step up from pretty much every other boyfriend Lydia’s ever had.
  • Liam is kind of a liability on these stealth missions.
  • What kind of job does her Dad have, that he’s going to meet a client at a courthouse at like ten o’clock at night?
  • Poor Stiles. Poor paranoid, stalker-y Stiles.
  • Mason is so cool. He is way too together for Beacon Hills.
  • Aw. Theo did Liam a solid.
  • Parrish might not be the best guy on a stakeout.
  • There’s a new wolf in town?
  • Sheriff Stilinski’s ready to move on?  Maybe to Mrs. McCall?
  • Oh Theo. we had such hopes for you.

Dragon Age Inquisition Thoughts: Champions of the Just, Part 1

Spoiler Thoughts:

  • Ok, time to dally with the Templars.
  • Varric, Cass, and Solas–saddle up.
  • Oh hey. Barely got through the first courtyard, and my inventory’s full. Good management there.
  • Hm. I think Knight-Templar Barris is becoming a little disillusioned with the order.
  • Well that was unexpected.
  • It’s like the part of the Fade that needs urban renewal.
  • Apparently we’re doing “This Is Your Life,” demon style.
  • COLE. Such a nice boy.
  • Oh, I could probably have done without that long look at Envy’s bum.
  • Ok, given that Barris presumably knows where the lyrium and lieutenants are since he lives here, maybe he should go get them and I should hold the Great Hall.

Dragon Age Inquisition Thoughts: The Threat Remains, Part 3

Spoiler thoughts:

  • Ok, level 7. Time to check out Val Royeaux.
  • This shard shield is great. It looks like Cass is wandering around with part of a sugar bowl on her back.
  • Val Royeaux is basically if Venice and Paris had a love child.
  • Welcome Vivienne, the follower I think I had the least interaction with of anyone.
  • Also welcome Sera, the follower with the most questionable hair of anyone.
  • Leliana wants to go get Blackwall, because all the wardens vanished. Remember when they all vanished from Ferelden because they were all DEAD?
  • Krem came by to ask us to meet The Bull. I still can’t believe it’s Jennifer Hale. It sounds nothing like her Cinderella or even Shepard.
  • “Grey Wardens can inspire, make you better than you think you are.” Blackwall, being more ironic than usual.
  • Wow, Blackwall and Solas just had the most awkward conversation ever.
  • “So…you fought somewhere?” “Um, yeah…you wouldn’t have heard of it. How about you?” ” Oh…here and there…you know how it is.”
  • Ok, so this Stone Dreams quest I think exemplifies the main disconnect I had with some of this game. You find a cryptic note in a house and then *bwamp* the quest’s over. Because somewhere, hours or days ago, you killed some rando in a cave and he was what the note referred to.
  • But since you found him before the note, you didn’t attach any significance to the dude at the time, so there’s no way to know what the letter referred to when you finally get it.
  • Ultimately, the whole thing becomes meaningless, because not only do you not understand what the letter was about unless you look it up online, but even if you did find it first, it didn’t really add much to the end result, which was you finding some guy and killing him without any dialogue.
  • I feel like it was supposed to give me insight and empathy towards the NPC, but what for? It wasn’t like I wouldn’t end up killing him anyway?
  • I wonder why we don’t set up camp in one of these abandoned cabins? They’re usually left with the fire going and the bed made. It seems like it’d be nicer than those tents we usually erect in the middle of Bear Country.
  • Blood Brothers is another one I don’t get. Some chump challenges his brother to meet him for a fight, and we come by to loot the body afterward.
  • #Helpful
  • Bull! It’s too bad I always find Bull and Blackwall so close together, because I think Blackwall gets overshadowed a little.
  • If there’s one thing that reduces my frustration with open-world gameplaying, it’s not making herculean efforts to climb up hills that are unclimbable.
  • I must say, Blackwall gets friendlier faster than pretty much any other companion. While everyone else is still all “I’d prefer we talk about my background later,” Blackwall is already all “YOU AND ME AGAINST THE WORLD, WINK WINK, NUDGE NUDGE.”
  • Maybe Lord Woolsley wandered off because One Eyed Jimmy was a little too dependent.
  • There is no way bringing back this guy’s grandpa from the dead is a good idea.
  • …And he’s dead again. Seems like we could have cut out the middle man.
  • I love when you kill a whole riftful of demons and the only thing left is a huge wheel of cheese. At least we know they’re not lactose intolerant.

Teen Wolf, Season Five, Episode One: “Creatures of the Night”

Spoiler Thoughts:

  • Always like how Beacon Hill appears to be a totally normal town, until you turn down that one street and find like bats flying out of Arkham’s Asylum.
  • Hm.  Lydia not looking so hot.
  • I can tell you this much:  Not going to rush over to Eichen House for my mental health care.
  • Oh Hoechlin.  How could you leave us like this?  After all we’ve been to each other?
  • Poor Stiles–looking for an apartment in SF.  Like your life doesn’t already contain enough horror.
  • Ah, Beacon Hills life.  Where the best you can hope for is that no one tries to kill you for six months.
  • The black oil!  Parrish, haven’t you ever watched X-Files?
  • I feel like Stiles would carry more than just duct tape around for his jeep.  That thing’s a hero.
  • Mrs. McCall still doesn’t have any money?  RNs make pretty good bank.
  • Wait-they locked Lydia up and everyone was ok with that?
  • Tamlyn is maybe not the most reassuring Mom ever.
  • I wonder if this isn’t something O’Brien thinks about for reals, now that he’s poised to go all Jennifer Lawrence with “Maze Runner.”
  • Same old Kira. Loving the fancy swords, and forgetting all about the part where she can electrocute people.
  • Although, I guess you could argue that with the rain puddles, she might electrocute Scott as well.
  • Lydia..what?
  • I find it kind of hard to think that the school doesn’t just come in and clean the whole thing off the next day.
  • When the man says no second chances, he’s not kidding around.
  • Nooooo! Not the jeep!

Dragon Age Inquisition Thoughts: The Threat Remains, Part 2

Spoiler Thoughts:

  • Hello Hinterlands!
  • Big welcome back to the Requisition Officer, winner of the Most Superfluous NPC award.
  • Man, I totally forgot how this works. It took me like 20 minutes to figure out how to switch people in the level up screen. Why was it so much easier in the earlier games?
  • Wow, these Templars and mages just keep coming.
  • Time to take you boys out, with “Templars to the West.”
  • I bet Cassandra and Varric just roll their eyes at each other every time I accidentally hit the right button instead of the left and wind up shooting fire at loot.
  • There are a lot of big wheels of cheese in Thedas.
  • Dennet’s all “I hear you need mounts.” “Can you help us?” “…No.”
  • I think this bigot nobleman we refused to help gave us the reward of a picture of drunks.
  • Varric is kind of done with red lyrium.
  • I’m not sure escorting this slow-moving druffalo is the best use of the Inquisition’s resources.
  • Man, if this farmwife is this cheesed about the Templars taking her ring, imagine how happy she’ll be when she finds out we killed all the rams around here.
  • Basically I head back to Haven when my backpack fills up with old lockets and Templar dolls.
  • I feel poorly if this guy’s mom has been waiting the year or so it’s taken me to cross the Hinterlands looking for her son to make her an inhaler.
  • “I think it is time you stopped playing the wounded party with me, Varric.” “Ignoring the times you actually wounded me?”
  • Varric and Cass have some issues to work out.
  • I love when you have dialogue choices like “join the Inquisition!” And “YOU FAILED HER. GO HOME.”
